Metro/RER
Express Train
The quickest
way to get straight to Disneyland Paris from the capital is to take the Metro/RER
"A" express train. It's only a 40-minute trip and you arrive right at the gates
of the Theme Park!
Getting there:
For travellers from Scotland you
may find this advice useful supplied by Rosemary in October 2002
We flew from
Prestwick Airport (near Ayr on the west coast of Scotland) to Paris Beauvais
airport with Ryanair. Booking it over the internet usually guarantees a
cheap price, but it varies from day to day. Beauvais is a tiny airport about
an hours drive by coach from Paris. The flight itself took just over one
hour and once we were there we paid 10 euros each for the coach to Paris.
The coach is supplied by Ryanair and is scheduled to leave about 20 minutes
after the plane lands. The coach then takes you to the Porte Maillott region
of Paris and drops off outside the Hotel Concorde la Fayette.
(Sadly this is nowhere near anything worth
looking at) It’s then a
short walk to the Porte Maillott metro station where you take the metro 2
stops to Charles de Gaulle Étoile station for the connecting train to Marne
le Vallée. The only problems we had with this was carrying our luggage, so
pack light! Also, once we arrived at Charles de Gaulle Étoile metro it was
a surprise to learn that the RER station was two flights BELOW the metro.
This was really awkward as there was only up escalators not down so all our
bags were lugged down steep flights of stairs. However, it was very good
value as the metro and train fairs return to Disney were 53 euros and that
was for 4 adults and one child. Our 2 eldest aged 11 and 13 both had to pay
an adult fare. We met some people from the north of England on our flight
that had driven north to take advantage of the cheap flights and they were
considering taking a taxi from the airport to Disney as they suspected for a
large family it might be cheaper; however, we did not find fares out
although I would consider that next time. Once at Disney, we were able to
access our room immediately in the hotel Cheyenne, so from leaving Scotland
at 7am we were unpacked by 12pm.not bad really. Incidentally, the parks were
great and we did not have to stand in a queue at all for the first three
days, although the weekend was a different story! Hope this is of some help
to you, Rosemary

Shuttle buses
link both Paris airports with all the Disneyland Paris hotels (except Davy Crockett
Ranch), as well as the bus station situated in the heart of Disneyland Paris. Journey time
is less than one hour from either airport, with frequent departures (approximately every
45 minutes from 8:30am to 7:45pm). Follow the signs for "VEA Navettes Disneyland
Paris" to board. The one-way fare is approximately 85 FF.
Regarding
Davy Crockett Ranch. There are no services here at all. If this is where you are intending
to stay it is important to remember that if you don't have access to a car you are going
to find your time there very difficult indeed. Whilst it is not so far from the airports
the taxi fare could and probably would clean you out financially. If you intend to fly
then hire a car for the duration of your stay as you will need it at the ranch!
